Karen Elaine Clement - Age 76, passed away April 10, 2025, in Flint. A private service, with interment to take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date, will honor her enduring spirit.
Born on June 28, 1948, in Owosso, Karen was the cherished daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary Elaine (Brown) Menerey. She lived fiercely and independently, embracing life with open arms. A dedicated educator, Karen devoted many years to teaching preschool and nurturing young minds through her daycare. Her profound love for reading and unwavering commitment to education were cornerstones of her life.
As an advocate for Women’s Rights, Karen demonstrated her belief in equality and justice. She served as Secretary for the Genesee County Democratic Party, embodying the ideals she championed. Her home stood as a welcoming haven, a place where friends and family gathered and felt at ease. As a gentle spiritual warrior she offered everyone her vision of life.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 38 years, Dave; children, Krista (Robert) McLaughlin, Eric Adams, Ryan Clement, and Yani Clement; her cherished grandchildren, Tara (Melissa), Samantha, Nikolai, and Mason; her great-grandchildren, Addison, Joslyn, Jemma, and Jovie; as well as her sister, Mary Beth.
