Deborah Sue Stein (Laczko), born on December 13, 1953, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was the beloved daughter of Helen Brennan, who preceded her in death in 2011. Deborah grew up in Bay City and spent her adult life in Auburn and Burton. She married the love of her life, Roy Stein, on July 14, 1973, and together they built a beautiful family.
Deborah is survived by her two children, Shaun Stein and Amber Nettell (husband Troy Nettell), who carry forward her spirit. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Ryan (Lauren), Andrew, Connie, Joseph, Mason, Grant, and Blake, as well as three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. In addition to her immediate family, Deborah is also survived by her brother, Al Laczko (Pam Laczko), who will remember her as a loving sister and friend. Deborah Sue Stein will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will always be remembered for her fun loving spirit and kind heart.
The funeral liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 17, 2026 at Corpus Christi Parish (Holy Trinity Catholic Church-Bay City). Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara will officiate. Burial will take place 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Pine Grove Cemetery (Williams Twp.). Deb’s family will be present to receive family and friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Tuesday, June 16 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday morning she will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of mass. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to the Humane Society of Bay County in loving memory of Deb. |
