Mary A. Janes age 100 of Owosso, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Courtyard Manor of Fenton. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel. Burial will follow to Fairfield Cemetery in Elsie. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mary Alice Fowler was born April 2, 1925 in Ovid, a daughter of Walter and Lela (Sisco) Fowler. On March 28, 1942 she married Laverne James. Mary enjoyed sewing, flowers, crafting and volunteering at Pleasant View. She was well liked by everyone who knew her and was willing to help anyone in need.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Sharon Dowen, Terry Sue (Jerry) Weeden and Virginia Schmidt[ several, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Laverne Janes; 15 siblings; parents, Walter and Lela Fowler.
