Rau, James E. Of Flint, age 76, died Sunday, June 20, 2021, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Rossell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Wellness Services, 311 E. Court St. Flint, Michigan 48502.
James was born in Flint, Michigan on October 28, 1944, the son of Cleon and Dorothy (Beauchesne) Rau. He was a graduated of Flushing High School, Class of 1962. James received his Bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan. He worked as a Surveyor for the City of Flint, retiring in 1994 and later owned and operated his own surveying business.
James is survived by his wife, Cheryl Christoff; daughter, Kelly Rau and wife Maria Martinez; granddaughters, Katie and Frances Donnelly; nine siblings, David and wife Jan Rau, Diane and husband Daryl Johnson, Dennis and wife Carla Rau, Charles and wife Diane Rau, Matt Rau, Mike Rau and Linda Lawson, Mary and husband Richard Smith, Paul and wife Wendy Rau, John Rau; sister-in-law, Carol and husband Don Torline; many nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Keith Rau; and sister-in-law, Maggie Rau. |
