Audrey Lois Olmstead, 92, died Thursday, July 27th at her home in Clio, MI with family by her side.

Audrey was born March 19th, 1931, in Flint, MI, to Leo and Marie (Stahl) Schaeffer and graduated from Holly High School in 1949.
In 1954 she married her childhood neighbor/family friend, the love of her life- Don. Together they created a life and family that began in the Beecher district then moved their home to Clio with their 6 young children, where Don and Audrey raised them and spent the rest of their lives. Their home was known by many as the "Olmstead Arabians" horse farm. As a beloved mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, she spent every weekend of her life as a devout member of St. Charles and Helena Catholic church, and her Sunday’s cooking for family. Sundays around Audrey's table were a coveted tradition that will live on in the hearts of all her family members. Audrey was a math whizz, a great cook, loved playing cards, reading, participating in the red hat society, and keeping up with friends. She always kept up on current events, had an excellent memory, could solve any puzzle, loved laughing, recalling fond memories and telling it how it is. Audrey was a true matriarch of her family. To know her was to love her. She will be greatly missed, and never forgotten.
