PALMITER, Curtis Graydon - Of Mt. Morris, age 74, changed his permanent address to “HEAVEN” on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
Funeral service will be held 12 Noon, Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Heritage Baptist Church, 5199 East Hill Road, Grand Blanc,
Pastor Chip Collins officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Visitation 4-8pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 11am Thursday at church until the time of the service at the church.
Curtis was born on December 19, 1946 in Bay City, MI to George T. Palmiter and Marguerite E. Palmiter. Curtis grew up in E. Tawas, MI in his early childhood. He graduated from Flint Central High School in 1965 and went to work at what was then AC Spark Plug for 30.6 years retiring in 1996. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time in the north whenever possible. Whenever he could find time and a partner, Curtis loved to play golf. He dearly loved his cat, Missy and would hold her on his lap and watch the old black and white westerns. After retiring, he and his wife loved to go to Florida during the winter months. They did that for a few years then settled back down near Flint to be near the grandchildren. He worked at a few part time jobs but the last one he worked was his favorite, Swartz Funeral Home. Curtis was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and has worked as a lay minister for many years. Curtis attended Flint Bible Institute where he studied the bible. He loved the Lord and loved working with people and sharing the gospel in word and song. He played the guitar and sang gospel and country music.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Patricia A. Palmiter of 54 years; their 3 daughters, Theresa Counelis (Andy) and their son Nick Counelis, Patty (Patricia) M. Palmiter and her children Ashley Palmiter, David Palmiter, Travis Palmiter, and Matthew Palmiter, Monica Wolf (Joe)and their children, Samantha MacDermaid (Jacob), and Sabrina Wolf and daughter-in-law, Pamela Palmiter and her children, Danny Palmiter, Stephanie Wycoff (Austin) and Cody Palmiter. Also left to cherish his memory are 6 great-grandchildren. 5 sisters, 2 brothers, several cousins, many friends.
Preceding him in death was his son, Paul, brother, Lance, brother Laverne, sister, Linda, sister, Paula, grandson , Justin, grandson Christopher, and mother, Marguerite Ashley (Palmiter) and father George Palmiter and a special step father Mark Ashley.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors for their loving care at Ascension Genesys, for Curtis and the family in the last days of his passing. They were exceptional!
