STOREY, James “Jeep” Leroy – of Montrose, age 79, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 6, 2018 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Jesse England officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.
James was born November 4, 1938 in Alamosa, Colorado to the late Earl and Iva (Nelson) Storey. He grew up in Houghton Lake, Michigan and resided in the Mt. Morris area for several years. He attended Houghton Lake High School. He married Norita May Love and she preceded him in death on February 19, 1988. Prior to his retirement in 2001, he worked as a Conductor for the Grand Trunk Railroad for 42 years. He was a member of the Living Word Family Worship Center. James enjoyed sitting on the porch outside, fishing, telling jokes, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also liked to work on vehicles and helped out at Louie’s Towing in Mt. Morris.
Surviving are; Children, Mark (Julie) Storey, Kevin (Melissa) Storey, Ronald (Kim) Storey, Nicklas Storey; Grandchildren, Cara (Brandon) Huffman, Caleb (Casey) Storey, Aubrie Storey, Amber Koplen, Alyssa Koplen, Ronald (Rhaina) Storey, Tyler Storey, Brittney Storey; Great Grandchildren, Olivia Storey, Malachi Huffman, Eliana Huffman, Lauralie Huffman, Brookelynn Burton, Chandler Noice, Grace Small; Siblings, Ralph (Linda) Storey, Sandy Emery, Clara (Melvin) Creager, Howard (Sue) Storey, Lori (Mark) Denboer; and several nieces and nephews. Jeep was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Norita; Great Grandchild, Cameron Storey; Brother Ned Storey.
