ALVORD, Wanda J. – Of Flushing, age 92, died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Hyde Park Memory Care.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 4, 2017
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Mr. Jim Robinson officiating.
Visitation 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Millington Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hyde Park Memory Care, 3200 Wyndham Drive Flushing.
Wanda was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 7, 1925.
On October 12, 1946, she married Lawrence Alvord and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2012.
Wanda enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts. She attended Central Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Alvord retired from GM after 25 years of service.
Wanda was very supportive, generous and devoted to her family.
Surviving are children, Larry of Davison,
Keith and wife Diane of Portage;
grandchildren, Chad and Melissa, Amy and husband Mitch Whisler, Tyler and wife Lauryn, Brad and wife Becky, Kylee and husband Ryan Mullen and Kari;
great-grandchildren, Logan, Riley, Brendan, Nolan, Benjamin, Jacob, Avery, Paxton and Theodore;
special friend, Allen Myers;
granddogs, Oreo and Murphy, who were very important in Wanda’s life.
She was preceded in death by special friends, Charles and Catherine Alvord.
Special thank you to Hyde Park Memory Care and Heart to Heart Hospice for all the care they gave Wanda.
