SLATTON, Esther Beatrice - of Clio, age 86, died September 25, 2021 at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Pastor Todd Beirmann officiating. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan and from 10 AM until time of service at the church on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Calvary Lutheran Church or the Charity of Choice.
Mrs. Slatton was born November 3, 1934 in Afton, Michigan the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Chaffee) Soules. She graduated from Onaway High School with the class of 1952. Her husband of 38 years, John Slatton preceded her in death in 1995. She was employed by General Motors at AC Spark Plug as an assembly worker and floor inspector for 30 years, retiring in 1986. Esther was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Flint, where she served as the Financial Secretary from 1998 to 2011. She currently was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Esther was very active in God’s work and trusted fully in Jesus for eternal life. She was a member of the UAW Local 651 and the International Library of Poetry where she had several poems published.
Surviving are: Daughters, Veronica (Michael) Boone of Clio, Maryann (Joseph) Palid of Millington; Son, Frank (Susie) Slatton of Clio; 6 Grandchildren, Kenneth Burch, Tonya (Jason) Agle, Robert Frieburger, Jessica (Wayne) Scott Jr., Anthony (Lauren) Slatton, Ryan (Kayla) Slatton; 2 Step Grandsons, Jason (Jenny )Boone, Jeff Boone; 8 Great Grandchildren, Jacob and Lisa Burch, Kasey and Braydyn Scott, Lanah and Macie Slatton, Sloane and Leo Slatton; 4 Step Great Grandchildren, Kyle Boone, Kylee Boone, Kayla and Ayden Doan; Siblings, Ruth Todd, Lloyd (Jennie) Soules, Leslie (Jeanie) Soules, Don Soules, Connie (Cliff) Holsinger, Rose (Louie) Cabinaw, Betty Wyman, Loretta Soules; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband John Slatton; Great Granddaughter, Angel Burch; Sister, Marie Rose, Dorothy (Richard) Mercer; Brothers, Jim (Donna) Soules, Albert Soules; Sister in law, Noureen Soules; Brother in laws, Harry Rose, Charles Todd, John Wyman.
