CROWLEY, Elizabeth. “Betty – of Battle Creek, formerly of Clio, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1PM Friday, September 25, 2020 at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church - 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Family will receive friends at church on Friday from 10 AM until time of the mass at 1PM. Burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Swartz Creek. Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary #158.

Elizabeth was born November 19, 1934 in Olyphant, Pennsylvania to the late Stephen Slisko and Agnes (Rosipko) Thorne. She graduated from Mandeville High School and later earned her LPN from Mott Junior College. Betty married Victor R. Crowley on April 29, 1961 in Swartz Creek. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2001. She was a nurse at McLaren Regional Medical Center for 30 years before retiring in 1993. Elizabeth was a member of SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio, and the Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post #1452 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed collecting antiques, baking, cooking, sewing, gardening, going to theaters and museums, and traveling. Above all, she loved being with her grandchildren, and spending time with family up north.

Surviving are: her loving daughters, Colleen (Joseph) Crowley - Palmer of Grand Blanc, Angela (Ted) Crowley - Beckham of Clio and Beth (Dan) Stewart of Kalamazoo; dearest grandchildren, Dr. Alexandra Ortiz, Violet Faith Stewart, Ryan Palmer and Katie Palmer; siblings, Stephen (Beverly) Slisko, Carol (Dale) McMichael, Joyce (James) Edwards, George (Connie) Thorne, Kathie Linberg and Doris Howell, brother in law Joe Kato, her cat, Tiger and several nieces, nephews, extended family and many special friends. She was preceded in by her husband Victor, her parents, sister Janice Kato, brother in laws Gerald Howell and Andy Lindberg.
