Henry, Joanne Isobel, of Flushing, age 94, died Friday, August 22, 2025, at WellBridge of Grand Blanc. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Rossell Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be 12 noon Tuesday until the time of the service at 2 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Arthritis Foundation.
Joanne was born in Flint, Michigan on May 18, 1931, the daughter of Walter and Hazel (Hulett) Bacon. She graduated from Montrose High School where she served as the Class President. Joanne married Edward Johnson, Jr. on September 8, 1951, and he preceded her in death on August 27, 1969. She later married Basil Henry on December 30, 1977, and he also preceded her in death. Joanne began her career as a teller at Citizens Bank followed by the Village of Montrose as the Clerk before coming to Flushing to work for many years as the City Clerk. Joanne was an avid quilter. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, playing Euchre and traveling.
She is survived by her four children, Gary (Lynette) Johnson, Ronald (Denise) Johnson, Diane Johnson, Sandra (Michael) Marsh; stepchildren, Eleanor Wenzlick, Linda Luchenbill, Lois Jean Yerrick, Sandy (Matt) Fultz and Sarah (Ron) Pulcer; grandchildren, Kristine (Paul) Stroup, Ryan (Carrie) Johnson, Jennifer (Kevin) Allen, Nicole (Bill) Law, Shannon (Mike) Murray, Wesley Johnson, Broderick (Megan) Johnson, Connor Marsh, Maggie (Jordan) Jackson-Marsh; step grandchildren, Cindy (Jim) Alexander, Lisa (Harry) Wright, Darren (Amy) Wenzlick, Kellie Wenzlick, Dana (Larry) Atteberry, Greg Thomas, Matt Thomas, Marie (Adam) Merkle, Melanie (Neal) Evans, Traci (James) Ruffin, Mary Ann Gotts-Hill, Heather Yerrick, Malyssa Yerrick, Mark (Joe Tralongo) Sembach, Candy (Gary) Kerr; sister in law, Cathy Bacon; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; two brothers, Eugene and Charles Bacon; and sister-in-law, Rita Bacon. |
