Stephen Karl Harchick, age 55, of Grand Blanc, passed away on August 1, 2025.
He was born December 13th ,1969 in Flint, Michigan. Steve was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished friend, and truly a selfless soul, who was suddenly taken too soon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sarah, and children, Jackson (19), Grant (15) and Kate (14). He is also survived by siblings Michelle, Regina (Dick), William (Joan), Ann (Dan) and Elizabeth (Ali), Sister-in-law Jenn (Kevin), Brother-in-law Bobby (Blaire). As well as his Father-in-law Bob Sophiea, Mother-in-law Kathy (Bob) Brundle, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father, William, Mother Casimira (Magiera), and brother Michael.
Steve graduated from Powers Catholic High School in 1988 and went on to the University of Michigan where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance. He was passionate about his career and was Executive Director-Investments at Oppenheimer, where he was employed for 29 years.
Steve lived his life with an open heart and a generous spirit. To know him was to be cared for, supported and encouraged. He would do anything for anyone; family, friend, or stranger alike; never asking for anything in return. His strength of character and unwavering kindness left an impact on every life he touched. Above all else, Steve loved his family deeply and unconditionally. He cherished his relationship with Sarah; she was at the heart of his life’s purpose. Steve found great joy in watching his children thrive, especially on the soccer field, where he was their biggest fan, never missing a game. Every memory was made more special simply by his presence.
Visitation will take place on August 6th from 1pm-8pm at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W Hill Rd, Flint, MI 48507. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on August 7th at 10am at Holy Family Church, 11804 S Saginaw St, Grand Blanc, MI 48439, with visitation beginning at 9:30am.
