BLACK, Virginia G. – Was born on October 16, 1928 to William and Zola Stewart in Flint, MI. She passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at The Pines in Goodrich, MI, where she spent the last 10 months. She was the oldest of 5 children and a lifelong Flint resident.
On December 2, 1950 she married Robert J. Black in Flint and he preceded her in death in 2012.
Mrs. Black graduated from Flint Northern High School and retired from Hurley Hospital in Flint, MI.
She volunteered her time at Upper Peninsula Bible Camp for well into her 80’s, where she was known as Grandma Ginny.
Virginia leaves three children, Barbara (John) Snider,
Robert W. (Denise) Black and Bruce (Cheryl) Black;
Mrs. Black had 9 grandchildren, Megan (Brian) Teegardin, Matthew (Natasha) Snider, Jennifer (Matt) Roosien, Stephanie Black, Jason Black, Sarah (Ryan) Kruithoff, R.J. (April) Black, Jessica (Billy) Roy and Trevor Black and seven great-grandchildren, Addison and Gavin Roosien, Anthony and Sarah Teegardin, Charlotte Snider, Skylar and Lincoln Roy;
Mrs. Black is survived by three sisters, Sharon (John) Hastings, Susan (Dave) Jeffes, Willodean (Rod) Reed and was preceded in death by her sister, Georgenia Peterman;
She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Lois Black and Maxine Hackley.

Visitation 3-5pm and 6-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI.
Funeral service will be held 10am Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the funeral home.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
