Rose Ellen Senrud, age 102, of Owosso, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, just two days shy of her 103rd birthday.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Nelson-House Funeral Home. Rose will be laid to rest at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Rose was born on January 10, 1923, in Owosso, the daughter of Patrick and Sarah (Coe) Sinnott. She grew up on the family farm with her six sisters and six brothers.
She graduated from Owosso High School with the Class of 1941. As a working mother of four, Rose balanced home and career with strength, working at Montgomery Ward and Active Glass Warehouse.
Rose found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid bridge player and a legendary baker, especially known for her cookies-treats that became cherished traditions and lasting memories for those lucky enough to enjoy them.
She is survived by her children, Tim (Tina) Senrud, Terry Sleeseman, Toni Fabus, and Thomas Senrud; her grandchildren, Sara (Shane) Rogalski, Christian Senrud, and Nikki Senrud; her great-grandchildren, Jillian, Austin, and Bridgette; her special niece, Dr. Cynthia Buckley and her husband, Dr. Marty Shankland; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, all twelve of her siblings-six sisters and six brothers, and son-in-laws, Rick and Tony.
Memorial contributions may be made to hospice or to the donor’s charity of choice.
