Wayne Carson Woods, 70, of Bancroft, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 23, 2020. A graveside service at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint will be announced by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Bancroft Chapel.
Wayne was born on April 26, 1950 in Flint, Michigan to the late Leslie and Lucille Woods. He graduated from Durand High School in the class of 1968 and spent his working life at General Motors. Wayne married Sherry Lee Woodbury on February 21, 1970 at the Durand Congregational Church, and together they raised three children. Wayne loved Western Movies, time with his family, and the Lord.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sherry. Their children; John Woods, Allen (Jessica) Woods, and Rhonda Woods. His grandchildren; Rob Splitstone Jr., Alicia Balmer, Adrian Esterline, Onna Esterline, Kaitlin Bannister, and Jacob Bannister, also his three siblings; Vicki (Chris) Pettie, Ray (Darlene) Woods, and Roland Woods.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his four brothers: Gary, Earl, Bill, and Harold.
Memorial contributions in Wayne’s name are suggested to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. |
