CORDELL, Wanda D. – Of Flint, age 95, died Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Willowbrook Manor.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Deliverance Tabernacle, G-4089 Fenton Road, Burton, Pastor Butch Martin officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Deliverance Tabernacle or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Cordell will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.
Wanda was born in Beech Grove, Arkansas on June 8, 1922, daughter of the late Columbus and Rhoda (Like) Thacker.
She was a member of Deliverance Tabernacle.
Wanda did missionary work for many years of her life.
Surviving are daughter, Paula and husband Richard Stainbrook of Flint;
grandchildren, Delei and Richard True of Albuquerque,
Domingo and RiDonna Herrara of Oklahoma City,
Michelle and Brian Crepeau of Flint,
Justin and Andrea Stainbrook of Rochester Hills;
4 great-grandchildren;
2 great-great-grandchildren;
sister, Barbara Cowan of Flint;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman, on January 11, 1973; son, Michael, in 1959; daughter, Carol Oropeza; parents, Columbus and Rhoda Thacker; two sisters, Arby Bailey and Dorothy Ziel and brother, Robert Thacker.
