Ellen Ward a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the age of 88. Ellen was born on August 22, 1937, in Grundy, Virginia, to Roy and Lucy Daniels. She married the love of her life Fred Ward in 1956, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. They eventually made their home in Flint, Michigan, where they raised their four sons and created countless cherished memories. A faithful member of Deliverance Tabernacle for more than 50 years Ellens faith was an important part of her life and guided the love and kindness she shared with others. She loved worshipping alongside her church family and faithfully served whenever there was a need. Ellen will be remembered most for the warmth she brought to everyone around her. She had a remarkable talent for quilting creating beautiful handmade treasures that will continue to wrap her family in love for generations.

She found great joy in tending her garden, where her vegetables flourished under her care. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, and family and friends eagerly anticipated her delicious southern cooking and the canned goods she lovingly prepared. No one ever left Ellen's house hungry. Ellen worked in the kitchen at Clara Barton Convalescent Center, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic before retiring. Above all Ellens greatest pride was her family. She devoted herself to raising her four sons and treasured every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great- great- grandchildren. Her unwavering love, quiet strength, and generous heart will be missed by all who knew her.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Lucy Daniels; her beloved husband Fred Ward; her son, Randy Ward; and her brothers, Estel, Monroe, and William.

She is lovingly survived by her sons, Cecil (Jeanine), Michael (Karen), and Kenny (Dawne); her grandchildren Leah (Rob) Mosier, Richard (Danielle) Ward, Candice (Chuck) Osika, Robert (Mindy) Ward, Jeremy (Ruth) Ward, Jennifer Eastwood,
Brandon (Molly) Ward, Brandiss Ward, Krystal Ward, Samantha Ward, and Hannah Ward, 21 adored great- grandchildren and three precious great-great-grandchildren; her sisters Alice Rife, Florence Ward, Janet (Sonny) Taylor, and Elsie (Lee) Burke
her brothers, Lonnie, Clell (Patsy), Reese (Vicki), Roy (Dianne), and Bobby (Sharon); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love support and prayers during this difficult time. Though no longer with us Ellens legacy lives on in every quilt stitched, every garden in bloom, every meal shared around the table, and in the hearts of all who loved her.
