FORBES, Gina Ann - of Burton, MI, age 63, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025.
Cremation has been completed, and a Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Genesee County Humane Society instead of sending flowers.
Gina was born in Flint, MI on May 2, 1962, daughter of Dallas and Beverly (Goff) Forbes. Gina was a nurse at Hurley for 30 years and served as a union representative for the nurses and pharmacists, both of which were roles near and dear to her. She cared deeply for her work, family and community at large. Just as her own family was
the joy and driving force of her life, she enjoyed leisurely gathering with friends and coworkers, and cookouts with family and lifelong friends, she was always quick with a story and infectious laugh. Her interest in animals was evident through her love of dogs, multiple cats she adopted over the years, and her lifelong fascination with small
monkeys. These animals had a profound impact on her life.
Gina is survived by her niece, Misty Forbes (Nick Locke); great nieces, Jillian Locke and Kaitlynn Locke; dear friends: Jeff, Rick and Larry Trevorrow, Rebecca Scholl and Melody Denkins. Nieces: Tracy (Randy) Sims and Cheryl (Tuklor) Trevorrow-Williams; great nephews: Dylean, Jahari and Yusuf, and many great-great nephews. She also had many cousins, aunts, and friends that were very dear to her. The family would like to express their appreciation to all those who provided assistance during Gina’s extended battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Beverly Forbes, and her sister, Debra Forbes.
