Marie C. Deckrow (Keway) 91, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family in Clearwater, Florida on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
Marie was born May 8, 1930 in Harbor Springs, Michigan, to Charles and Margaret Keway, the only daughter of five children. She attended Grayling High School where she was an active cheerleader. Marie married Howard Deckrow on May 8, 1946. Together they raised 5 children in Grayling Michigan before moving to Bay City and finally settling in the Davison area. Howard and Marie enjoyed traveling in their RV with their beloved dog, Barnie. Among Marie’s special talents and favorite hobbies were cooking for family gatherings, home making, bowling, sewing, crafts, traveling, gardening, bingo, biking, square dancing, singing in the choir and snowbirding in Florida. She had a fierce sweet tooth for any sugary delight.

Marie was a proud member of the Odawa Indians and Richfield United Methodist Church in Davison, MI.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard, her two brothers, a granddaughter and a daughter-in-law.

She is survived by her five children: John (Sue) Deckrow, Jerry (Elsa) Deckrow, Jim (Patti) Deckrow, Karen (Alvin) Smith, Joe (Susan) Deckrow, two brothers, Jim (Nadine) Keway, Bill (Diana) Keway, sister-in-law, Judy Keway, nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service celebrating Marie’s life is being held July 17, 2021 at 11:30 am at Thomas United Methodist Church, 504 First Street, Oxford, Michigan 48371.
