Young M. Jean- of Birch Run, formally Mt. Morris, age 83, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, at McLaren Flint. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial to follow at Mt. Morris City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 12PM until 8PM and on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of service.
Jean was born November 21, 1938, in Flint Michigan to the late John & Martha (Burneo) Palencak. She was raised in Flint where she attended St. Michaels High School and graduated with the class of 1957. Jean married Bill Young on September 30, 1961. She and Bill moved to Mt. Morris where they raised their 3 children. Jean was employed by the State of Michigan at the Secretary of State for 25 years. Following their retirements, they spent winters at their home in Lakeland FL. and summers at their home in Birch Run. Jean loved creating surprises for her family, reading, flowers and flower arranging, listening to polka music and polka dancing. She was known for her kindness and making a meal for family and friends when in need. She loved to try new recipes along with making her favorite family recipes. Above all she was proud of her family and devoted to her husband.
Surviving are: Husband of 60 years, Bill Young; Children: Annette (Barry) Arkush, Rodney Young, and Peggy Bigelow; Grandchildren: Andrew Reese, Jaime (Nick) Scott, Brooklynn Lowell, and grand dog, Millie.
