Lessie Lee Pitts Jr. age 70 passed away December 7, 2017 at his residence. Funeral service will be held 11 am, Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 502 Leith St. Flint, MI. Family hour will start at 10 am at the church. Family will receive visitors from 4-8 pm, Wednesday, December 13, at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St. Flint. Pastor Daniel Moore officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Lessie Lee Pitts Jr. “Leslie,” was born in Ladd, Arkansas on July 27, 1947, to Mr. & Mrs. Lessie and Luevercy Pitts. He accepted the Lord and was baptized at Bethel AME Church in Flint, MI. He graduated from Flint Central High School. Leslie was drafted during the Vietnam War and served as an armor crewman in the United States Army. Leslie also worked and retired from General Motors and the Flint Public Community Schools. He had several interests which included: bowling, fishing, music and barbequing which was one of his greatest joys. Leslie was preceded in death by his father Lessie Lee Pitts Sr. “Leslie,” brother Jamie Maurice Pitts and niece Mica D. Pitts.He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters Erika (Lamont) Coates of Indianapolis, IN, Angela (Lon’Gregory) Williams of Grand Blanc, MI, and son Anthony Pitts of Flint, MI. Six grandchildren: Stanley and Anthony White; Ta’Shima and TaRiah Darrough; TayLon and Terrion Williams. Eight great grandchildren: Kaylon Perkins; Rudy Rison Jr, C.J. Rison, Ta’Chynna and Tayler Mitchell, Khalil, Khalimah and Khaliah White. Four brothers John (Katy) Pitts of Buckeye, AZ; Richard (Janice) Pitts of Phoenix, AZ; Kermit Pitts of Flint, MI, Lee (Jametta) Harper, of Rison, AR. Five sisters Zenobia (James) Pease of Flint, MI; Marilyn Pitts of Upper Marlboro, MD; Vanetta Pitts of Lansing, MI; JaNice Marshall of Cleveland, OH, and Reginia (Billy) Shelton of Lansing, MI; Grandmother Mrs. Emma Pickens of Pine Bluff, AR; aunts, uncles, cousins nineteen nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. |
