Gary Wayne Kiger, age 87, of Owosso, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday, November 2, 2026 at Immanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at church on Monday from 11am until the time of service.
Gary was born on May 28, 1939, in Owosso, the son of Elmer and Arlene (Lecruex) Kiger. He graduated from Owosso High School with the class of 1958.
A man who appreciated the simple joys of life, Gary loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. His faith was an important part of his life, and he valued time spent in Bible study. Above all, Gary treasured his family. His children and grandchildren brought him great joy, and his love for them was a lasting part of who he was.
On May 26 in Flint, Michigan, Gary married his forever sweetheart, Wanda Jacobs. Together, they shared many years of love and cherished memories.
Gary was a hardworking and dedicated man who owned and operated his own trucking business for more than 57 years. Through his years of hard work and commitment, he built a legacy of perseverance and devotion to his family.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda; his children, Rhonda Dann, Rick (Brenda) Burkett, Tamera (Phil) Collier, Renae (James) Rhodes, Gary (Candy) Jackson, Scott (Stephanie) Kiger, Duane Kiger, and Eric (Sherry) Miller; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandsons, Jermia, Jeramy, and Noah.
