ZIEMKE, Wayne – of Davison, MI, age 71, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service, with Military Honors, will be held 6 PM Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Jason Crum officiating. The family will receive visitors 4-6 PM Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, in Wayne’s memory.
Wayne was born in Marked Tree, Arkansas on September 1, 1946, son of Geneva “Jenny” (Jarrett) and the late Alton Ziemke. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969. Wayne retired from General Motors in 1988 after 17 years of service. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed target shooting with his family.
Wayne is survived by 2 children, Korey (Michael) Jackson and Darin (Lily) Ziemke; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Ziemke, Shelby Jackson, Sheldon (Brooke) Jackson, Amber Ziemke and Sarina Ziemke; 2 great-grandsons, Isaiah and Kaycen Weaver; 2 brothers, Dean (Karen) Ziemke and Tracey Ziemke; very special friends, Bill (Debbie) Beaver; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Ziemke; wife of 23 years, Betty (Jones) Ziemke and second wife of 19 years, Andra Ziemke.
