DeWitt, William Norman – of Montrose, age 78, died at his home, surrounded by all his love ones on February 15, 2019. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 23, 2019 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Chaplain Todd Regester officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 1-8 PM at the funeral home in Montrose. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for future designation.

Bill was born on September 19, 1940, in Flint, Michigan, the 4th of 6 children to George William and Ruth Evelyn (Oliver) DeWitt. He grew up in Genesee and graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1958. He worked 40 years for General Motors at both Fisher Body and Buick City. Besides spending time with family, Bill loved to have a big garden, mow the lawn, ( he was a John Deere man!), working with wood, watching football and listening to blue grass/country and western music and anything to do with John Wayne!
Bill met and married Carol Edna Reed, his bride of 56 years, March 31 1962. They preceded to have 3 children, LaVonne (James) Ealy, Norman (Sherry) DeWitt of Montrose and Missy of Chesaning. They were very fortunate to have awesome grandchildren, Zachary (Elizabeth Crawford) DeWitt and Kaylee (Rob Quackenbush) of Montrose and Dakota, Paxton (Emily Thiel) and Alexis Ruddy of Chesaning. He was especially proud of his "Peanut", great grandson Hudson Lee Quackenbush and namesake Kevin William McCarty, Zachary William DeWitt and Paxton William Ruddy. .
