He continued working at various General Motors facilities before retiring in 2016. Mr. Yancho had a strong work ethic that he inherited from his father, grandfathers, and uncles, and that work ethic and his sense of humor endeared him to his fellow co-workers. An avid outdoorsmen, Mr. Yancho loved hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling with his family and close friends at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Houghton Lake, on his family’s ten-acre property, and in St. Helen. These were some of his most cherished memories, and he developed lifelong bonds of brotherhood with his cousins and friends during these trips. He also had an affinity for classic cars and over the years collected a few he treasured. What people will remember most about Mr. Yancho, is that he had a generous nature and fun-loving spirit. He had his own way of showing it at times but always had love in his heart for all of those in his life. Mr. Yancho is survived by his sister Catherine and husband Kyle Radka of Flushing; sister Susan and husband Matthew Wendling of Flushing; brother James and wife Kristina Yancho of Flushing; sister Carol Yancho of East Lansing; brother-in-law Steven Brody of Swartz Creek; eight nieces and nephews: niece Tricia Yancho and boyfriend Dennis Johnson and nephew Patrick Brody; nieces Emily, Madalyn, Sarah, and Taylor Wendling; nieces Kayla and Samantha Yancho; and great niece Cheryllynn Johnson, as well as numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Mr. Yancho was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Joseph Yancho, Sr, his mother Wanda M. Yancho, and his sister Cheryl (Yancho) Brody. One of Mr. Yancho’s final requests was that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) to support alcohol addiction research. <https://www.niaaa.nih.gov/about-niaaa/our-work/donations-niaaa>
