Deloris Marie (Dewey) Middleton Carlson, “Dee”, 83, passed away from natural causes on September 19, 2021 in Lapeer. She was born February 9, 1938 in Flint to parents Clarence and Eleanor (Erickson) Dewey.
She graduated from Central High School in 1956. Dee married Elmer Middleton on February 19, 1956. They were married forty years when he passed away due to ALS. In 1973 Dee discovered she had two half-sisters, CarolAnn and Clair. Dee was a secretary for forty-four years, starting her career working for the City of Flint and retiring from Carmen-Ainsworth Schools in 2000. She found love again, marrying Ron Carlson on June 30, 2001. They were married 17 years before he passed away from natural causes. Mrs. Carlson lived in Holly, Grand Blanc areas for forty-seven years. She was an extremely active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Grand Blanc, for over twenty years; it was her passion. Dee was also a member of the VASA Club, Lapeer; her Swedish roots were very important to her. She was always the best hostess; she threw all the family parties and was known for her extravagant 4th of July party every year.
Mrs. Carlson is survived by daughter: Lorie (Clyde) Davis, grandchildren: Jessica (Brian) Rutledge, Steven (Mariah) Holmes, Cory Davis, Cami (fiancé, Andrew Cross) Davis, great-grandchildren: Tristan and Viktor Rutledge, Jocelyn, Maleina and Micah Holmes, second family: Bob and Karen Scott, David Carlson, two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by previously mentioned husbands and son: Steven Middleton.
Her funeral will be 11:30am Wednesday September 22, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Rd., Grand Blanc 48439. Visitation will be that morning, 10:00-11:25am-ish, at the church, prior to the service.
