Larry D. Nelson, 56, of Joy, IL. Died Sunday February 6, 2011 at the
Rock Island Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services are 11:00 AM
Wednesday at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Aledo
cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 Tuesday at Fippingers where Masonic
Services will be conducted at 7:00 PM. Memorials may be left to the
College Avenue Presbyterian Church and online condolences can be made at

He was born March 17, 1954 in Aledo to Ralph and Mildred Jones Nelson.
He graduated from Aledo High School in 1972 and graduated from Western
Illinois University in Macomb in 1976.
Larry farmed with his family for several years and was employed at the
U.S. Post Office in Aledo as a rural carrier for the last 20 years.
He was a member of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church, the New
Boston Masonic Lodge # 59 and he enjoyed photography and computers.
He is survived by 2 brothers, Russell Nelson of Joy, IL, Donald Nelson
of Warrenton, MO, his Aunt Helen Eckhardt of Aledo and his Uncle Robert
Nelson of Taylor Ridge, Il
