Clark, Harold R. "Hank" – of Flushing, MI., age 87, died Monday, January 5, 2015 at McLaren – Flint. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Montrose Baptist Church – 300 E. State St. in Montrose. Pastor Dan Pugh officiating. Burial in Flushing Cemetery with graveside military honors. Family will receive visitors at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Monday from 2-8 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of service at 12. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Hank was born September 16, 1927 in Montrose, Michigan to the late William and Letha (Sweers) Clark. He graduated from Montrose High School. He was a Korean War, U.S. Army Sgt. stationed in Japan. He was also a member of the Army's national championship softball team. Hank married Margaret Ingersoll on August 20, 1954. He had resided in Flushing for over 60 years. He was employed at Buick Motor Division for 46 years and was a member of UAW Local 599. He and his wife Margaret were founding members of the Montrose Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons for many years and was instrumental in the church relocation and pastor search committees. He loved spending time with his family and helped raise 5 grandchildren. Hank was also a very accomplished bowler and was a former baseball coach for the Montrose Pony League. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, fishing and gardening.
Surviving are: Wife, Margaret; 4 children: Susan Dobson, Cindy Clark and Jeffrey Clark – all of Las Vegas, NV. And Sherry Clark of Flushing. 9 grandchildren: Andrew, Joshua, Samuel, Amanda and Nathan Clark; Melissa (G. Brooks) Brown, Christina Dobson, Kelly (John) Waite, Kerry (Michael) Kasper; 3 great grandchildren: Colton and Lillian Brown and Thomas Kasper; Brother, Gerald (Beverly) Clark of Montrose. Hank was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
