ROESNER, Geraldine J. – Of Flint, age 95, died Monday, November 11, 2019.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Friday, November 15, 2019, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Reverend Father Bob McGraw officiating.
Visitation Thursday 12 Noon to 8pm, with a Rosary recited at 7pm at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W. Hill Road in Flint. Additional visitation Friday 10am at the church before the Mass.
Burial in New Calvary Cemetery.
Geraldine was born in Flint, Michigan, March 27, 1924, to Charles and Julia Wahlse. She married John Daniel Roesner on May 11, 1946, a loving union lasting forty-three years until he predeceased her on November 2, 1989. Geraldine was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and was employed by General Motors before her seven children were born. She enjoyed playing bingo and trips to the casino, but was happiest and most content spending time with family. Generous, kind, strong and fiercely protective, we honor and cherish the legacy of love she has left us. We are blessed that God let us keep her for so many years.
Beloved mother of Katherine and husband Nels Olson of Rochester Hills, Ernest and wife Terry of Swartz Creek, John and wife Janet of Grand Blanc, Suzanne and husband Michael Jones of Flushing, daughter-in-law Pamela Roesner; also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, the Jones girls (Kay, Kris and Marcia), several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her loving husband, she was predeceased by son, David, in 2014, two infant sons and her siblings, Catherine Bernadine Morse, Earl Wahlse, John Wahlse, Dora Peglow, Ed Frase, Frank Frase, Howard Doolin, Bill Frase and Helen Culhane.
Memorials appreciated to Old Newsboys, a charity close to Gerry’s heart.
