BOSSOLONO, WILLIAM – Lovingly know as Bill, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family and his cherished community at The Oaks of Woodfield Grand Blanc.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
William was born in St Francis Hospital in Blue Island, Illinois, on August 14, 1960.
Bill was the first of five children and grew up in Dolton and South Holland, Illinois, where he brought joy and light to everyone who knew him. He graduated from Echo School in 1981 and later retired from New Horizons in Springfield Township, Michigan.
A lifelong athlete and proud participant in the Special Olympics, Bill competed from his youth all the way into his senior years as a beloved Golden Oldie. He was an avid sports fan, passionate about every game and scoreboard, and he especially enjoyed sharing those moments with the people he loved.
Bill’s Life was defined by his deep faith, love of music, especially Johnny Cash, his boundless love of food and most of all his love for people. Whether it was a kind word, a beaming smile, a warm hug, salute or fist pump, Bill had a gift for making everyone feel seen, loved and important.
He was absolutely adored by his family, friends, caregivers, and all who were lucky enough to know him. Bill leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and unwavering love. He will be missed beyond words and remembered always.
Surviving are his father, Gerald A. Bossolono;
Brother Brian (Robin) Bossolono;
Sister, Michelle (Gary) Dais and Christine (Brett) Welling, along with his nieces, nephew and great nephew.
He was preceded in death by his mother Judith Ann Bossolono.
