HODGES, Sandra Jean - Age 77, of Lennon, died Thursday, December 7, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, December 11, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Kathy Phillips officiating. Burial at Yerian Cemetery, Lennon. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Children's Miracle Network.
Sandra was born June 29, 1940 in Ionia, MI, the daughter of Rowley and Dorothy (Jorgensen) Nelson. She married Ralph Hodges July 28, 1956 in Ionia, and were married for 60 great years. They resided in Lennon since 1960. Sandra was kind, and had a genuine interest in others, always willing to listen, and had a smile that put people at ease. Sandra was a member of Lennon United Methodist Church, and loved helping and volunteering there. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling and camping with Ralph in their fifth wheel and visited all of the states except for Hawaii. Some of her hobbies were gardening and bowling in her younger years, most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children; Stephen(Gerry) Hodges of Owosso, Tammy (Dean) Bartz of Flint, Debra (Steven) Webber of Benzonia, and Randall Hodges of Lennon; grandchildren, Heather Webber, Matthew Webber, Christian Bartz, Kevin Bartz, Jack Call, Henry Call, Andrew Wright, MaryKate Wright, and Aaron Elliott; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Alexis Elliott, and Abraham Call. Sister Cheryl (Galen) Fountain and brother Craig Spence. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph and her daughter Lori Ann Hodges.
