ROSS, Carolyn Sue (Gist) – of Millington, MI, age 85, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Larry Maddox officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 12-1 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care, 4085 Lapeer Road, Burton, MI 48509, in Carolyn’s memory.
Carolyn was born in Cardwell, MO on December 8, 1939, daughter of the late Buford and Edna (Conrad) Gist. She was a graduate of Bendle High School in Burton, MI, Class of 1957. On October 13, 1979, she married the love of her life, Chuck Ross, in Flint, MI, where they built a beautiful life together filled with laughter, love, and devotion. Carolyn dedicated many years to her career at a law firm located in the Genesee Towers in Flint, MI, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues for her kindness, professionalism, and unwavering work ethic. Beyond her career, Carolyn’s greatest joy came from the simple pleasures of life. She loved cooking delicious meals for family and friends, camping under the stars, and cheering passionately for her favorite college basketball team—the Michigan State Spartans. Her home was always filled with warmth, good food, and the comforting presence of her cherished feline companion, Millie. Carolyn’s gentle spirit, generous heart, and sense of humor touched all who knew her. She will be remembered for her love of family, her enduring friendships, and the joy she brought to every gathering. Though she will be deeply missed, Carolyn’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband Chuck Ross; 2 children, Christine (Thomas) Graham and Kevin (Lisa) Montgomery; 2 step-children, Brian Ross and Theresa (Matt) Talman; 3 grandchildren, Steven (Kayla) Montgomery, Katie Montgomery and Kyle Ross; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Charles (Bonnie) Gist and Don (Sue) Gist; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Edna Gist; brother, Jackie Gist; 2 sisters-in-law, Sue (Tom) Cunningham and Jane (Charley) Mody.
