Chito fought a short battle with cancer and he lost that battle in less than one month. He had already accepted the outcome and was ready to meet his savior. In his years of life he did many things. He held several jobs, including Maytag, Vlasic, Kelly Services, and Flint Housing Commission. Besides working, he and his wife, Aurora, owned a restaurant for about one year.
He was devout to the Virgen de Guadalupe and the Catholic Church. He prayed for all the animals and children of the world. His favorite buddies were his fur babies Chulo and Oscar. At one time he had two dogs, two cats, a bird and a tank full of fish. His wife was his “old battle axe” but he loved her to the very end. He was blessed to have a huge family who would gather every year for family reunions. He loved to dance in his younger years and was very proud of his heritage. He loved music of all kinds and sometimes even tried to make sound with his drums. He was a compassionate and loving person but also very stubborn and proud at times.
He loved to watch boxing and old cowboy movies. History was one of his favorite topics to talk about. His dad was a WWII vet and he was so proud of it that he would tell everyone the story about how his dad lost a toe at war and about the purple heart he received. He knew no strangers and, every time he met someone he could strike up a conversation about politics or religion. He had no filter and was not afraid to ask any question. He will be greatly missed by so many people, including his children and several friends. May the Lord forgive his sins and welcome him with open arms and may the Perpetual Light shine upon him.
