NEWMAN, Brian – of Montrose, formerly of New Lothrop, age 49, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 27, 2026, at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 1PM on Monday, August 3, 2026. Pastor Tim Hobson officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 12PM until 8PM and Monday from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family for future designation.
Brian was born on March 22, 1977, in Flint, to Edward and Susan (Stall) Newman. He graduated from New Lothrop High School and proudly owned and operated Local Tax Services, Inc. in Montrose. Brian shared nearly 10 wonderful years with the love of his life, Tara Sposeto, and together they built a life filled with love and countless memories. A dedicated member of the Montrose Lions Club, Brian was well known throughout the Montrose community and never met a stranger. He enjoyed car racing, playing poker, boating, and cheering on his favorite sports teams – especially the Lions. He loved attending musicals and plays, but his greatest joy was simply spending time with Tara. Brian's kind heart, easy smile, and genuine love for those around him will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Brian is forever loved and remembered by: Fiancé, Tara Sposeto; Children: Daisy and Dominic Sposeto; Parents: Edward and Susan Newman; Siblings: Caryn and Edward; Nieces and Nephews: Chase, Allison, Emma, Topher, and Eric; In-laws, Edmond and Beverly Egan; Sister-in-law, Stephanie Egan; Beloved companion, Milo; Many extended family members and wonderful friends. Brian was preceded in death by his daughter, Megan, and several aunts, uncles, and extended family members. |
