Pappenheimer, Charles of Flushing, age 89, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Genesys Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Rossell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m Thursday at the funeral home.

Charles was born in Chesaning, Michigan on September 29, 1924, the son of the late Charles and Bernice (Rolfe) Pappenheimer. He married Pearl Swain on January 24, 1949, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Maple Grove. She preceded him in death on February 1, 2008. Charles worked at General Motors, Buick Motor Division, retiring after 48 years. He was a member of the Flushing Moose Lodge. Fishing was his passion and he enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers. He loved driving in his truck and visiting with family and friends.

Charles is survived by his siblings, Rosemary Pieknik, Phyllis (Don) Reinhart, Geri (Richard) Quaderer, David (Alice) Pappenheimer, Charlene (Tim) Flynn; sisters-in-law, Wanda Pappenheimer and Sharon Pappenheimer; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; special fishing buddies, Josh and his son, Lucas; good friends, Duke and Ruth. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ernie and Duane Pappenheimer; and other fishing buddy, nephew, Bob Pappenheimer.
