HNILICA, Erika – of Davison, age 45, passed away Monday, March 24, 2025, at her residence. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 PM Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Davison Free Methodist Church, 502 Church St, Davison, MI 48423. Pastor Shane Bengry officiating. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Genesee County or the Crim Foundation, in Erika’s memory.
Born in Flint on August 27, 1979, Erika was the beloved daughter of Dennis and Barbara (Humiston) Michael. She was a proud graduate of both Flint Powers High School and Eastern Michigan University. Erika was employed with U.E. Michigan Sales, Inc. She was known for her passion for fitness. She actively participated in events like the Crim and the Shi-Tri, along with many other athletic challenges. Hiking and canoeing were also among her favorite outdoor activities. One of Erika’s happiest places was the beach, particularly during family vacations at Hilton Head, SC, where she cherished the time spent with loved ones. Erika had a deep love for animals, with dogs and butterflies holding a special place in her heart. Her family will forever miss her radiant smile and the joy she brought to their lives.
Erika is survived by her loving mother, Barb Michael; sister, Michelle (Brian) Hoppe; niece, Morgan Hoppe; nephew, Tyler Hoppe; her beloved fur baby, Abbie; aunt, Diane (Jerry) Nugent; uncle, Richard (Kathy) Humiston; cousins, Mark (Ruth) Nugent, Jennifer (Steve) VunCannon, Melinda (Brent) Whitman, and Jeff (Leslie) Humiston; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Michael; her fur baby, Maggie; cousin, Adam Humiston, and her grandparents, Charles & Frances Humiston and Bert & Wilma Michael.
