HERZBERG, Thelma Doris – of Clio, age 92, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at her residence. She has joined her husband in rest awaiting the Resurrection at the last day when Jesus comes to claim his own. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, G 4285 Beecher Rd. in Flint. Pastor Jeff Akenberger, Pastor Joel Nephew and Pastor Justin Ringstaff officiating. Burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Thursday from 1-5PM and 6-8PM and at the church on Friday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to Clio Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Thelma was born October 25, 1922 in Midland County to the late Floyd and Stella (Brand) Thomas. She lived in the Clio area over 40 years. She married Joseph W. Herzberg on September 27, 1947. He preceded her in death on February 29, 1996. Thelma was a member of her Clio Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was active in her church and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are: son Ronald (Sally) Herzberg of Flushing; daughters: Kathy (John) Markham of Clio, Debra (Michael) Fechik of Grand Blanc; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters: Mildred Jupe of Sanford, Esther (Ronald) O’Dell of Sanford; sister-in-law, Marlyn Thomas of Flint; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: brothers: Elmer Thomas, “Al” Almon Thomas and Willie Thomas; sisters: Matilda Fowler and Erma Cole.
