ZANOTTI, Anthony P. “Andy” – Of Flint, age 85, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Gary L. McInnis officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of the Marine Corps League Flint Detachment #155 Honor Guard. Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Redeemer Debt Reduction Fund or Holy Redeemer Outreach. Visitation 2-6 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Virgil Service will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Zanotti will be at the church from 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of the Mass. Mr. Zanotti was born in Millington, Michigan on June 2, 1926, the son of Peter and Hazel Zanotti and was a resident of Flint most of his life. Mr. Zanotti served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On June 2, 1951 he married Betty Zuvich. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Sons of Italy Flint Lodge and UAW Local #598. He built his own home and enjoyed maintaining it.
Mr. Zanotti was employed by General Motors Truck and Bus for 31 years, retiring in 1991. Surviving are wife, Betty; granddaughter, Hillary and husband Ryan Richardson; great-grandson, Trey M. Richardson; sister-in-law, Donna Jean Zanotti; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Jon, in 1991; sister, Edith Webb and brother, Peter J. Zanotti.
