FRAZEE, CAROLE MAE – Formerly of Lennon, Michigan, age 89, passed away peacefully Monday, March 31, 2025 at her son and daughter-in-law’s home in Troy, Michigan, with loving family present.
Memorial service will be held at 3 pm Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan. The family will be officiating. Visitation will take place from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund (https://curealz.org/)
Carole was born May 19, 1935 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Eric and Mabelle (Opheim) Johnson. She was a graduate of Hoover High School. She married William Frazee in Mt. Morris, Michigan, on August 1, 1962.
Our Mother was not just OUR Mother, but a Mom to any child at any age. It was her life’s work and she did it selflessly and unconditionally. She provided the kind of nurturing that one often hears about, but is lucky to experience. She not only cared for her direct children, but also her step-children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and many great-grandchildren all of whom loved to be in her presence. Growing up, we didn’t know any other kind of mothering and this extended to neighborhood friends who enjoyed her famous homemade pan pizza among other food favorites. She was always there for the tough times and was the biggest cheerleader for anyone’s accomplishments. This is not to say that she wasn’t tough and disciplined because she certainly was that as well. She had principles and stubbornly adhered to them in a way that was admirable, but not overbearing. You always knew where she stood and there was much that was comforting in that. We never really understood the commitment to mothering she had until we all finally moved away. There was an obvious change in her not unlike a retiree adjusting to retirement. Fortunately, there would soon be grandchildren and great-grandchildren to provide her ample opportunity to continue her life’s work. We all will miss her bright, smiling face and attention that made you feel like you were the only person in the room.
She is survived by her children, Andrew Frazee (Deborah), Richard Frazee, David Frazee, and Dianne Coplin (Jamie); step-children Patrica Wilson (Don), Pamela Wright, 16 grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Isaac.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Janice Kaye Frazee; son William Kevin Frazee; step-son Michael Frazee (Gladys); step-daughter Nancy Crawford; brothers, Bud Johnson (Pam), Ben Johnson (Joanne), David Johnson, and Nick Johnson. |
