It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Thomas Parr on Thursday January 15, 2026 at the age of 81 in Grand Blanc, MI.
He was born on December 10, 1944, in Flint, Michigan to William and Gayle (Stone) Parr.
For over 40 years, Gary was the proud Associate Director of Intramural Sports at the University of MI, Flint. He was passionate about fitness, especially biking, swimming, and running, and was active until his last day here on earth. Gary graduated with a Masters degree in Library Science from the University of Michigan. He was an avid learner, reader, and eagerly debated his friends and family on an array of topics. Gary savored all kinds of music, especially jazz and rhythm and blues, and no room in his house was without a radio. He was a wonderful father, son, brother, friend, and neighbor, and will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Gary was survived by his daughter Jill Parr; nieces Bridget and Summer, and nephew Solen. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gayle, his son Marc, his brothers Craig, Philip and Matthew, and niece Dewi.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, TBD. |
