Roberta “Bobbie” Gay Adolph, age 73, of Grayling Michigan passed away at her home on 11/4/2021. Born in Pigeon, Michigan on 12/18/1947; She was the youngest of 4 siblings. She attended Ainsworth High school and played the alto saxophone. During her first job at A&W she met her husband Pat. They married her senior year and have celebrated 54 years together. After graduation, she worked for Fisher Body and then for Lakeville School District driving buses for almost 10 years. She would say her most rewarding job was raising her 2 sons and being a loving and supportive wife.
Bobbie’s life adventures included scuba-diving, wood working and helping build their first home in Otisville where they resided for 32 years. She enjoyed canning and her homemade applesauce was coveted by many. Bobbie’s coleslaw recipe was published in a local cookbook 2021. She was also known as an “avid” golfer and had the honor to be the score keeper at the Buick Open. She met the likes of Tiger Woods and Payne Stewart.
In 2007, Bobbie and Pat moved to Grayling and enjoyed time spent with friends on the local golf courses, at the Moose and Eagles Clubs. After retirement, they spent their time between Florida and Michigan enjoying family and friends.
Bobbie was a hard-working, compassionate, and giving lady who impacted all she crossed paths with.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents-Francis and Leora Burnham, brother Chuck, sister Phyllis, mom-in -law Maxine Jaygo and father-in-law Orville Adolph.
Bobbie is survived by her husband Patrick Adolph, her brother Dusty Burnham (Donna), Her children: Darien Adolph (Jen), Dwayne Adolph (Jenna), Her grandchildren: Christian Norum (Karissa), Trevor Adolph (Ashley), Cody Adolph (Erica), DJ Adolph, Madison Russell, Melanie Russell, Her greatgrandchildren: Graham Adolph and Lucas Adolph and many other family and friends and fellow golfers.
In HONOR of Bobbie’s nickname “Birdie” we are reminded of the song I’ll Fly Away written by A. Brumley and sang by Johnny Cash.
Some glad morning when this life is over
I’ll fly away
to a home on God’s celestial shore
I’ll fly away |
