BRUTON, Thomas Lester Jr. -- Age 83 of Clayton Township, died Friday, September 30, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Jason Coldwell officiating. Visitation will be 5PM - 7PM Tuesday and 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be 9:30 AM Monday October 10 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society. Thomas was born on June 14, 1933 in Flint, the son of the late Thomas L. and Cora Bertha (Davis) Bruton. He married Martha L. Schlosser in 1970. Mr. Bruton proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars. Thomas retired from Dupont in 1989 with 33 years of service. He was a member of the Flint VFW Post 3087. He enjoyed going to the casinos, playing cards and working puzzles. Survived by wife of 46 years, Martha Bruton of Clayton Township; daughter, Diane Dexel (James Kreider) of Flint Township; son's, John Bruton of Swartz Creek and Richard Bruton of Flint; granddaughter Cheyene Bruton; brother, Ray Bruton of Biloxi, MS; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Dave) Trevarrow, Leroy Boulter, Bethany Wyley, Stephen Bruton, Reb Bruton, Bob Bruton, Barb. He was preceded in death by his sister Maxine Boulter and brother Herbert Bruton. Tributes may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
