Robin was born in Flint, Michigan on November 9, 1957, the daughter of Ronald and Patsy (Wilson) Gagnon.

Surviving are brothers, Richard and wife Lisa Gagnon and Ronald Gagnon, Jr.;

nieces, Veronica Coon, Nevaeh Tatro and Riley Tatro.
