Mildred Ann Tompkins, age 78 of Fostoria, MI passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Masonic Pathways in Alma with her family by her side.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Avram Funeral Home in Mayville with Pastor Carole Brown officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 2-7 PM on Thursday, October 29, 2015 and 10:00 AM Friday until the time of the service all at the Avram Funeral Home.
Mildred will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jack, at Watertown Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Association or Heartland Hospice.
Mildred was born June 2, 1937 in Fostoria, MI to Edwin & Nellie (Derocher) Blackmer. She grew up in Fostoria and attended Mayville High School, graduating in 1955. On May 7, 1955 Mildred married Jack Tompkins in Fostoria MI. She worked for the Caro State Home retiring in 1988. Her hobbies were gardening, painting, crocheting, visiting casinos, baking, reading and sharing good times with grandchildren.

Mildred is survived by: three children: Bonnie (Joel) Ide of Fostoria, Cheryl (Dan) Schell of Mt. Pleasant and Scott (Marcy) Tompkins of Fairgrove; eleven grandchildren: Joel Jack (fiance Ashley) Ide , Ryan (Tara) Schell, Danny (Amy) Schell, Greg (Michelle) Ide, Nicole (Scott) Green, Daryl (Tina) Ide, Chris (Dea) Schell, Justin, Cameron, Ashley, Logan Tompkins, twenty-one great grandchildren; Jasmine Ide, Kamryn, Kali Schell, Josh, Katie, Tyler Schell, Hayley, Claudia, Alexander Albrecht, Alicia, Zack, Owen Seeley, Hayden & Adison Green, Emma, Ava, Ethan, Andrew & Isabella Ide, Alex & Elizabeth Schell; three brothers Ed Blackmer of Fostoria, Jim (Sheryl) Blackmer of Fostoria and Rick Blackmer of Caro; one sister Sue (Tom) Marlow of Mayville, sister-in-laws Gloria Blackmer of Texas, Kathy Blackmer of Fostoria; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 2011, her parents, two brothers Ernie and Robert Blackmer, one sister Margaret Harmon, one sister-in-law Diane Blackmer.
