JONES, Thurman Edward Jr. – Of Flint, age 81, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his residence.
Visitation 4-8pm Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Saturday, May 15, 2021 at church until the time of the service.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 West Bristol Road, Flint,
Reverend Rob Prince officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Thurman was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 2, 1939, the son of the late Thurman and Ruby (Franklin) Jones Sr. Thurman retired from Pepsi Co. and was also a retired Pastor and was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene. Thurman loved fishing and working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are wife, Joan;
Children, Susan Zemore, Rodney Jones, Vicky Wilson and James Jones and wife Ann;
Grandchildren, Heather (Josh), Jason (Nyssa), Daniel (Sarah), Gina (Matt), Nicholas, Kassie (Aaron), Topher, Elizabeth, Rodney II (Ashley);
Many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way;
And son-in-law, Christopher.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Cunnington, son, David Phillip, sister, Billie Faye and brother-in-law, Johnny Holmes.
