Marguerite Blair, 86, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Iowa Masonic Home in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, April 7, 2011 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville, IA. Memorials may be made to The Masonic Home. Online condolences may be left at www.therungemortuary.com
Marguerite was born October 29, 1924 in Plainview, IA; the daughter of Willard and Bertha (Horne) McCammant. She was united in marriage to John H. Blair in 1948 in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She taught school in the Davenport Community School District until her retirement in 1985.
She belonged to the Daughters of the Nile; was a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW); and was very involved with her Church in Chandler, AZ and its theater where she was the Director of Drama and loved to perform and dance.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, John, and daughter-in-law, Sue, Chandler, AZ; granddaughter, Angela (Stan) Rossmiller, Eldridge; great grandchildren: Hailey and Lauren Rossmiller; sister, Iva Ward, Des Moines, IA; and brother, John (Marilyn) McCammant, Eldridge, IA.
Her parents and a sister, Mary preceded her in death.
