TOKAR, RICHARD- Of Flint, age 77, passed away on January 10 2026.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating.
Visitation will be held at 11am Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Entombment at Crestwood Cemetery.
Richard was Born on May 12, 1948, in Flint Michigan to his late parents John and Ruth Tokar,
Richard grew up to be a simple man. He was a proud graduate of Bentley High School and went on to serve his country with honor for four years in the United States Navy.
On April 20, 1974, Richard married the love of his life, JoAnn. Together they built a wonderful life with their two children. Richard was an avid bowler and a skilled poker player. He found great joy in the outdoors, specifically hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnn Tokar;
his daughter, Tonya Treiger (Michael Wiseman); his son, Richie Tokar;
and his granddaughter Joslyn Treiger;
sisters Ellen Chambers (Roy Pease), Janice Ledford (Joe Krause) and Connie (Jay) Parker.
He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Jr. and Ruth, brother John Tokar III and his sister Janet Troupe.
