GORDON, James “Jim” Nelson - Of Davison, age 78, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at his residence.
Cremation has taken place.

Jim was born in Atlas, Michigan on December 22, 1937, the son of the late Herbert and Leta (Walter) Gordon. Jim’s life was one well-lived. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1960. After retiring from building homes in the Goodrich area for many years, he and his wife Lea moved to Tennessee and bought the Lazy Daze Campground in Townsend, Tennessee, near Gatlinburg. They operated it for seven years, before selling and purchasing a motorhome that they crisscrossed the country in for many, many years until settling back down in Davison. In all, they traveled to 46 states from the luxury of their motorhome and made numerous friends along the way, plus had vacationed in Alaska. Jim was a builder of fine homes in Goodrich for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors. Jim’s hobbies included building model airplanes, boats, wood crafting, and building furniture for his home. Jim started Cub Scout Pack #340 in Goodrich, Michigan.
Surviving are wife, Lea;
sons, Thomas and Steven;
daughters, Annette (Michael) Orth, Julie (Gentry)-Sanz-Agero;
stepchildren, Greg (Jennie) Main, Jeff Main, Tina Main and Julie (Jerry) Harmon;
12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren;
2 brothers, Bob (Pat) Gordon and Lee (Barb) Gordon.
He was preceded in death by his son, Russell.
