MATZKE, Holly M. – of Mebane, North Carolina, formerly of Montrose, Michigan, age 49, died on Thursday, July 22, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, August 2, 2021, at Montrose United Methodist Church – 158 E. State St., in Montrose. Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Sunday from 3PM until 6PM and at the church on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Holly was born February 11, 1972, in Saginaw, Michigan to Christopher and Dawn (Morse) Matzke. She loved her family, attending concerts, comic books, spending time in nature, gardening, and camping. Holly was known for her beautiful prize-winning smile. She absolutely loved animals, over the years she would foster dogs at her home, and volunteer at animal shelters. She worked at an animal shelter when she moved to North Carolina where she found her precious Princess Joanna. She took Princess Joanna home and loved her with her whole heart. Holly always helped anyone she could, and in the end, became an organ donor helping those in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Holly was preceded in death by: Grandparents: Dorothy and Warren Morse, Clyde and Marguerite Matzke; Cousin, Thomas Matzke; Aunt, Patricia Matzke; Uncles: Brian Matzke, Danny Matzke, and John Villanueva.
