HUSS, James M. - Of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Flint, age 86, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Genesys Convalescent Center in Grand Blanc, MI.
Funeral service will be held 10AM Friday, December 27, 2013
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Paul Ytterock officiating.
Visitation 1-4PM and 6-8PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
James was born in Flint on March 20, 1927, to William Stanley and Iva Flora Huss. He married Verna K. Davis on June 12, 1948 and she preceded him in death on January 19, 2011. James served aboard the USS Fanning in World War II and was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are sons, David J. Huss (Kathy) of Swartz Creek, Ronald W. Huss (Connie)of Saginaw;
granddaughters, Stephanie Niemi (Kyle)of Oxford, Ashleigh Ryle (Kevin)of Burt, Melissa Leyanna (Jason) of Belleville; one great-grandson, Leland, sister, Betty and husband Rod Eldred; several nieces nephews and many friends in both Michigan and Florida.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Alvin and Denny
